Dr. Ronaldo Casimiro da Costa is Full Professor and Head of the Neurology and Neurosurgery Service at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and one of the world's leading authorities on canine cervical spondylomyelopathy (wobbler syndrome). He earned his DVM at the Federal University of Paraná, a Master's in Surgery at the Federal University of Santa Maria, and a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Guelph's Ontario Veterinary College, and is board-certified in neurology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). He has authored more than 110 scientific articles and book chapters and co-edits the Practical Guide to Canine and Feline Neurology, the field's standard reference. Founding president of the Brazilian Veterinary Neurology Association, he has received over 30 teaching and research awards across the US, Canada and Brazil, and was named Veterinarian of the Year in Brazil in 2023.
